Thousands of people die every day around the world from infections acquired while receiving health care. The hospital-acquired infections caused by multidrug-resistant bacteria are particularly dangerous. Their transmission in the health care facilities occurs often and mainly through contaminated equipment or patient’s direct environment as well as through the contaminated hands of the health workers, patients and visitors. Hand hygiene is therefore one of the most important standard precautionary measures.

Aiming to promote hand hygiene as well as to improve the quality of health care services worldwide, Mr. Neda MIlevska Kostova, Executive Director of CRPRC Studiorum, will participate in the expert meeting so as to present the EAAD-related activities and the cooperation with NGOs in the field of antimicrobial resistance in Macedonia. CRPRC Studiorum contributes to the event organization in close cooperation with the Ministry of Health, the Multi-sectorial Commission for Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance within the Ministry of Health, the Institute for Public Health and the Medical Faculty – Skopje with the support of the WHO Country Office in Macedonia.
