This year, as in the past five years, the European Antibiotics Awareness Day will be celebrated. The main activities for this year are presentation of promotional materials for awareness raising and one day training session on microbiologists for compliance with EUCAST protocols and guidelinces.
The successful cooperation between CRPRC Studiorum and the Union of Associations of Retired Persons in Macedonia (UARPM) that commenced through the pilot research on the current conditions and retired persons’ opinions about the active and healthy aging in Macedonia, has been further strengthened and defined through a Memorandum of Understanding, signed on February 15, 2013.
Having in mind the meaning of the rational use of antibiotics and the scope of the problem caused by the growing resistance of bacteria to antibiotics, Macedonia has been taking part in this initiative since its beginning in 2008, thus being one of the 32 European countries that promoted the rational use of antibiotics amongst the population and the health workers. This year, the European day is focused on the promotion of rational use of antibiotics amongst veterinary doctors.
This legal analysis shows how the current national legislation addresses the concerns of people living or vulnerable to HIV from a human rights perspective, including access to health care, social and health services, education, employment, legal protection as well as respect and protection of their privacy and confidentiality. It provides comparative analysis of the national legislation with the international standards in this area and recommends legal amendments to overcome the existing gaps.
The conference “State of Social Sciences Research in the Republic of Macedonia” took place on April 14, 2011 in Skopje (Hotel Kontinental). The event managed to attract the attention and participation of many think-tanks from Macedonia, as well as of representatives from state and private universities, the Ministry of Education and Sciences, as well as independent researchers.
CRPRC Studiorum’s team started the activities in the global “Right to Health Litigation Project”. The project was initiated by the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Right to Health, Mr. Anand Grover, and is coordinated by the Lawyers Collective, India.
The Second Annual Scientific Conference of the Regional Research Promotion Programme (RRPP) this year will take place in June, 25-27, 2010 in Durres, Albania. The conference will bring together over 90 participants from 16 countries from the region, Europe and overseas countries. Researchers, including researchers working on RRPP-supported research projects will present their work in five parallel workshops.
