Lectures in 5 primary schools in Skopje

Short educational lectures were held in 5 primary schools in three municipalities in Skopje. Professors and doctors through clear and understandable presentation explained the importance on rational use of antibiotics as well as on the importance of hand hygiene to 500 pupils. Promotional material such as vials with herbal tea and motto “Cold? Flue? Take care and not antibiotics”, pocket size liquid soap package, pocket size sanitizing hand gel package for disinfecting and flyers were shared among the children which hopefully (indirectly) will affect their parents too.

Prim Dr Golubinka Bosevska, Msc, Head of the Laboratory for Virology and Molecular Diagnostics, Institute of Public Health started the series of short lectures in the primary school “Koco Racin” 18 November. In front of over 100 pupils and their teachers, she explained the importance of rational use of antibiotics as well as bacteria excising out and inside our body.

On November 23, short lectures were organized in two primary schools in Skopje, held by MSc Verica Ivanovska and Dr Biljana Kakaraskoska Boceska. Over 200 pupils from “Dimitar Miladinov” and “Vojdan Chernodrinski”, had the opportunity to learn something new in the field of antimicrobial resistance and how to wash hands properly.

Interesting questions and discussions were opened in the primary school “Ljuben Lape” where Kristina Hristova, MSc from the Health Insurance Fund, Skopje held short educational lecture on the importance of rational use of antibiotics to 100 pupils (November 24).

60 pupils from “Hristijan Todorovski Karposh” on November 30 had the pleasure to listen to the lecture of Prof Dr Nikola Panovski who briefly showed them the life of bacteria and its entry in our organism. He presented the effectiveness of the antibiotics and advice on rational use of the same.

Due to a great interest in the lecture, Dr Biljana Kakaraskoska Boceska held one more presentation to over 70 pupils in the primary school “Vojdan Chernodrinski”.
