The Second Cycle of the Pilot Training on Active Citizenship has been completed

The Centre for Regional Policy Research and Coopration Studiorum (CRPRC Studiorum) with the support of the Association of Local Democracy Agencies (ALDA) implemented the second cycle of Pilot Training on Active Citizenship in Macedonia. This training aimed to enhance the capacity and knowledge on active citizenship in Macedonian and European context with the local authorities and the civil society organizations (CSOs). In this cycle CRPRC Studiorum included the municipalities of Bitola and Prilep, having participants from the unites of local self-government and the CSOs.

The training was structured in three modules, A, B and C. The first Module A was hosted by the Municipality of Bitola and was held in their premises on the 6th and 7th of November 2009. The second Module B was hosted by the municipality of Prilep and was held in the presmises of the Foundation for support and development.

The second cycle of implementation was completed with the second Conference on Active Citizenship, held on the 03rd of December 2009 in the EU Info Centre in Skopje. Mrs. Neda Milevska – Kostova, Executive Director of CRPRC Studiorum and Mrs. Camille Gangloff from ALDA, opened the conference. The following gave their presentations at the conference: Emilija Geroska – Junior Associate in PR at the Municipality of Bitola, Ane Laskoska – Chief of Cabinet at the Municipality of Prilep, Camille Gangloff – Project Coordinator at ALDA and Biljana Kotevska – Researcher at CRPRC Studiorum. The aim of the event was to enhance public debate for inclusion of citizens in the decision making processes at local level.

ALDA awarded CRPRC Studiorum with a Certificate for Contribution in the Active Citizenship Area for 2008-2009. The same model of trainings ALDA organizes with its partners in France, Italy, Denmark and Lithuania.
