Sharing for Action

Sharing for Action is the network of public health projects. It is providing the frame for the cooperation of public health institutions in South Eastern European countries undergoing transition. Public health in these countries has three basic similarities: similar historical context that is implying similar public health problems; scarcity of resources and low political will to give a higher priority to public health needs; the need that public health tackles new issues, especially those dealing with human rights and health which is not an easy task in the dominant structural and cultural context. Regional networking is, therefore, a logical answer of professionals intending to strengthen public health, and to stimulate their involvement in order to answer to local and regional needs. |
