Within the constant efforts to improve implementation of patients’ rights and quality of health services by improving patient safety and enabling working conditions of health workers, Center for Regional Studies and Cooperation “Studiorum” and Eurasian Initiative for Patient Safety organized Conference on Eurasian Initiative for Patient Safety in Hotel Continental, Skopje from 19 to 21 November 2009. At the conference, despite the eminent representatives of the health profession and patients’ organizations from the Republic of Macedonia, representatives of governmental institutions and NGOs from 18 countries from three continents took part: Slovenia, Poland, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Moldova, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina Albania, Russia, Georgia, Belarus, Armenia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and United States of America.
Во рамките на постојаните заложби за подобрување на почитувањето на правата на пациентите и квалитетот на здравствените услуги преку унапредување на безбедноста на пациентите и овозможување услови за работа на здравствените работници, во Скопје во хотелот Континентал од 19 до 21 ноември оваа година се одржа Евроазиската конференција за безбедност на пациентите во организација на Центарот за регионални истражувања и соработка “Студиорум” и Евроазиската иницијатива за безбедност на пациентите. На Конференцијата, покрај еминентни претставници на здравствената професија и организации на пациенти од Република Македонија, учество земаа и претставници на владини институции и невладиниот сектор од 18 земји од три континенти: Словенија, Полска, Бугарија, Литванија, Молдавија, Хрватска, Босна и Херцеговина, Албанија, Руската Федерација, Грузија, Белорусија, Ерменија, Украина, Казахстан, Киргистан, Узбекистан, Азербејџан и Соединентите Американски Држави.
This publication is a result of enthusiastic gathering, discussion and motivation to contribute to changes in the healthcare sector in the 16 national contexts by experts and activists, national officials and civil sector representatives that gathered in Kiev in the General Meeting of the Project on “Eastern European and Asian Organizations for Patients Rights and Safety” in May 2008. This project, initiated by a group of visionaries that envisaged networking in the Eastern Europe and Asia in this very hot issue of patient safety, is aimed exactly at – exchanging experiences and best practices, but more importantly – joining strengths and overcoming weaknesses in improvement of the legislation and implementation systems in our countries with ultimate goal of – increased health status and declining medical errors and adverse events.
