Romani community in the Republic of Macedonia – situation and challenges in housing and health care

CRPRC Studiorum’s research team, Neda Milevska-Kostova and Enisa Eminova in cooperation with HDZR “Mesecina” – Gostivar held press conference to promote the assessment report “Romani community in the Republic of Macedonia – situation and challenges in housing and health care”, on Friday, February 29, 2008 in hotel “Holiday inn”, Skopje.

This assessment is first comprehensive study of this type encompassing significant number of data from Macedonia and other signatory countries of “Roma Decade 2005-2015” in regards to housing and health care issues. The assessment report, not only detects the crucial tribulations, but also contains successful practices and methods by which the quality of housing and health care among Roma population is expected to increase.

The promotion of the results of this assessment was honoured with presence of representatives by the Government of Republic of Macedonia, diplomatic core, the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Ministry of Health and the Coordinating committee for the Decade.

All respected parties present at the event were provided with free copies of the assessment, in hard and soft format, in Macedonian and English translations.
