Association of Local Democracy Agencies (ALDA)

The Association of Local Democracy Agencies was founded in 1999 with the support of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe. Its first mandate is to coordinate the Local Democracy Agencies (LDAs) established in the Balkans in the 1990s, which promote human rights, local authorities and active citizenship. ALDA conducts projects on the principle of multilateral decentralized cooperation together with its members. ALDA has 200 members across Europe (local authorities, NGOs, individuals) and provides services such as trainings on European programmes, active citizenship, etc. ALDA has its headquarters in Strasbourg (France), with offices in Brussels (Belgium) and in Vicenza (Italy). www.alda-europe.eu |
