Kumjana Novakova

Graduated from the University of World and National Economy in Sofia, Bulgaria, International Relations with a specialization in Balkan countries. She obtained her M.A. in Democracy and Human Rights in SEE from the University of Sarajevo and University of Bologna and an MSc in Social Research, Political Science track, from the Free University in Amsterdam. She has lectured at different post-graduate programs and courses at Center for Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Studies of the University of Sarajevo and worked as an academic tutor for the MA in Democracy and Human Rights in South East Europe. She was one of the founders and Creative Director of the Human Rights Film Festival Pravo Ljudski in Sarajevo.
Her research interests include ethnicity, nationalism and theories of identity and Europeanization, and has a special interest in socially engaged creative documentary film. Connect with Kumjana at: |
