Conference: “Fighting Corruption to Improve Governance”

CRPRC Studiorum in cooperation with FPDL “Partners Foundation for Local Development”, Romania and UNDP mission in Macedonia organized one-day conference “Fighting Corruption to Improve Governance: Curing and Preventing Corruption by Reforming Local Government Organizations”. The conference took place on October 15, 2009 in Skopje.

Anticorruption Practitioners’ Conference aim was to bring together anticorruption practitioners from various programs in Macedonia to exchange experience, learn from each other, assess their approaches, tools and results in addressing corruption at local level, identify lessons learned and present recommendations on how to more effectively cure and prevent corruption in local governments organizations and increase integrity, transparency and accountability. The conference was invitation-based and it featured national and international experts and stakeholders dealing with the issue of corruption at local level.

The Conference was designed to involve participants in ideas generation and presentations, in order to use everybody’s experience and ideas and to create a common understanding on the improvements necessary to be included in the future programs that will address corruption in local governments in order to improve the organizations performances and restore citizens trust and respect in the public authorities.
