Start of the Project “Passing the 20% barrier”

ned-logo-jpegCRPRC Studiorum’s project team commenced the implementation of the planned project activitieswithin the frame of the project “Effective Participation of the Small Ethnic Communities in theLocal Government in Macedonia: Passing the 20% barrier”. The idea for the project is a result of the need for evaluation of the impact the Ohrid Framework Agreementon the small ethnic communities in Macedoniain the eve of the tenth anniversary of its signature.
Specifically, through the project activities CRPRC Studiorum’s project team will strive to accomplish the following objectives:
– Assessment of the impact the implementation of the OFA had on the rights of the small ethnic communities in Macedonia (focusing on the right of effective political participation);
– Improvement of the implementation of the rights of the small ethnic communities in Macedonia, with a focus on the implementation of the right of effective political participation in the local government in Macedonia.
The project activities will start with a researchconducted with the assistance of an external expert,and resulting in a backgroundstudy. On the basis of this study, policy reportwill be compiled containing policy recommendations aiming towards improvement theenjoyment of the right of effective political participation of the small ethnic communities in Macedonia, with a focus on the enjoyment of the right in the local government. Project activities include making of a documentary and a music video, targeting the wider population in Macedonia.
The project will be implemented in the period November 2010 to October 2011 with the financial supported by the National Endowment for Democracy.
